The Sixth Army Brigade, based in Ibagué, offered a reward of up to 10 million pesos for accurate information to clarify the murder of two professional soldiers, during Sunday events in the Chaparral Municipality, Tolima.
The soldiers, assigned to the Jose Domingo Caicedo battalion and on leave, died in a business in the middle of a gunfight when they reacted to prevent a robbery.
Witnesses said that in the middle of the robbery a fight and a shooting was to reduce the criminals, but that the soldiers José Lizandro Santos and Juan Diego Caicedo were injured, Cristian Camilo Rojas Sánchez was also injured.
"They were killed when they tried to prevent a theft in a business," said the Sixth Brigade.
Santos, 31, born in Caparrapí (Cundinamarca) and Caicedo, born in Tolima, died despite the medical care they received in the Chaparral hospital.
The latronero Cristian Camilo Rojas Sánchez was injured and recovered satisfactorily.
