Several tracks that correspond to different types of dinosaurs were first found on the mainland of Scotland, as announced today by the author of the discovery, a paleontologist at the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow.

Dr. Neil Clark discovered the footprints in a coastal area near the city of Inverness, in the Scottish Northeast, although the exact location has not been revealed to be able to carry out the research more effectively.

The traces, found in different rocks, could have belonged to different dinosaurs from the Middle Jurassic 170 million years. They are the first to be known on the Scottish mainland, as they had previously been discovered only on the Isle of Skye in the northwest of the region.

Their size suggests that they were made by a relative of Sauropods, large herbivores, up to 18 meters high, with four legs and a long thin neck.
