Prague – There is a strong thunder in the afternoon and evening in Moravia and the eastern half of Bohemia. They can be accompanied by heavy rainfall with short-term amounts of up to 50 liters of water per square meter. This is the result of an updated report from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI). Meteorologists are also warned about heavy rainfall in South Bohemia.
In the southern half of the Czech Republic meteorologists have covered an average of ten to sixty millimeters of rainfall per square meter in the past 36 hours. The rain continues to rain, the intensity of the rain will temporarily strengthen the storm.
"During the Monday evening the intensity of the rain slowly decreases," says the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
Stronger storms in the eastern half of the Czech Republic predict meteorologists in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms can be uniquely accompanied by heavy rain with short sums of between 30 and 50 liters of water per square meter.
As a result of heavy rainfall, smaller flows may exceed the first or the lowest level of flooding.
"On Monday we expect the most dramatic rainfall in South Bohemia, the smaller rivers in the saturated Upper-Vltava catchment can reach the first phase", warns meteorologist.
