Jihlava – Use a new device in the Jihlava hospital that helps patients with kidney stones.
The existing hundreds of thousands of urological lasers are used several times a week in operating theaters, but it is now possible to use a newer device that came to about 630 thousand crowns.
The word is delivered with a method of directed gravel using a laser beam. "The holmium laser is used for the first time for crushing in the Jihlava hospital, and physicians also use the ultrasonic method," said the spokeswoman for the hospital Monika Zachrlová.
"The new laser is used for urological endoscopy," said the surgeon of operating room Magdalena Vojtěchová. During the procedure, the patient is generally anesthetized and spent an hour in the operating room.
Patients in urology often suffer from the presence of stones in the kidneys, ureters and bladder. "Stones are made from minerals and salts that are soluble in the urine, but in some circumstances they are crystallized and gradually converted into an insoluble stone," explained Zachrlová.
Litotrypse, a surgical procedure in the form of crushed stone, is just one of the options. Certain types of urine stones can be thrown away with medication.
