Lysá nad Labem (Nymburk) – In Lysá nad Labem in Nymbursko, around 7:00 pm, the production hall of Kovona is burning, which produces metal furniture. According to the owner's estimates, the fire has damaged more than 100 million crowns. Firefighters have announced a second and third degree of alarm of four possible, with about a hundred firefighters fighting 21 units fighting with flames, ČTK said a spokesperson for the Central Bohemian fire brigade Vladimir Kerek. No one has been injured yet, the firefighters will refrain from the flames until the morning.

It is not yet clear how the fire started. There are ceilings in the hall, according to Kerek there must be nobody in it. "Firefighters try to protect the nearby paint shop that has not hit the fire," said Kerekova. The flames destroyed only the production hall.

Police spokesman Michael Richter, CTK, said the hall burned 20 times 40 meters. Transport does not make the fire more complicated, she added. No problems have been reported by the Czech Railways.

The fire brigades recognize four alarm levels. The most serious is the fourth – strange, which is only announced in extraordinary situations.

Kovona was founded in 1913 and employs about 150 people in 2017. For example, it makes metal wardrobes, filing cabinets, filing cabinets, tables or shelves. The company also exports its furniture to Germany, France, Belgium, Scandinavia or Spain, Kovona says on its website.
