He is currently responsible for nearly 50 young people who will soon leave the gates of the orphanage in the Ústí nad Labem region. In the Usti region you will act as the coordinator of the start project, which helps to integrate young people from children's homes after they have left their gates. What does your work involve?
My work consists mainly of direct individual help for young adults who leave their children's home. But not only they, we also focus on helping young people who leave foster care. But that is not everything. In addition to individual direct help, young people also have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program, to hold regular thematic meetings. We also offer scholarships and support talented children from children's homes.

Are you interested in your help? What about the young people who most often solve when leaving the children's home?
When you leave the home of a child or a foster family, there is no interest in any kind of interest, but after a while, let's say a few weeks or months, they are self-conscious and want to help. They dissolve most often and want to help find a job, help with communication with authorities and search for housing in these areas. But it is no exception that they need help with moving things from the apartment, where they unfortunately do not pay rent, and then communicate with the owner of this apartment.

What makes them the biggest problems in daily reality?
The biggest challenge for them is to draw up a financial plan with regard to income and expenditure. They can not even save money or create financial reserves.

Do they leave the children's home in the Ústí nad Labem region or are they going to the capital?
That is different. Some travel a large part of our country and some settle on their native guts.

Do you have contact with them even after they have left the orphanage?
Yes, this contact is most important for my work.

It certainly does not flatter, but why do young people most often come to children's homes?
The most common are children from a socio-pathological family environment. Parents are often drug users, with a criminal past that is still present. Unfortunately, there is no exception to the violent behavior of parents against their own children.

You also work in one of the children's homes in Ústí. Does it help you? Do you see more behind the scenes of their lives?
Absolutely! I think it helps me more quickly and empathically to understand the individual situation of every young adult who wants to help. But it also applies that I know only from their lives what they share with me, exactly what they want to say to me.

What are the young people of today from children's homes? What dreams do they have?
They are largely naive and have unrealistic ideas about a world outside the orphanage. Their dreams are mainly about a lot of money they earn after leaving the children's home, but also about their own entire family. They do not want to end up like they do at any price.

There are many myths about children from children's homes. Which do you think is the biggest?
You are right, there are really many and some are absurd. The public is often surprised to go home for a weekend or to visit the parents. Perhaps the biggest myth is that they are children who are in a & # 39; pastime & # 39; life. The public does not yet distinguish between institutional education and protective education. The first company protects the child, the other protects the company.

Recently you have a summer camp in Lesná u Mostu with the Začni project to organize a summer camp for young people from children's homes. What is the purpose of similar actions?
The goal is to create a community of people who have undergone institutional training or foster care and show that they are not themselves. That they can share many things that they can hand over many things. At the same time it is inspiring and shows that they have life in their own hands and that they can live differently than their biological parents. Of course, if they want to, and they decide to do something.

Work well for eight years. What do you want to prove in the Usti region?
We would like to extend the social housing network that is designed for the needs of people who leave the orphanage or provide foster care.

You have been working in the field for many years. How do you rate the situation in this kind of social services in the Czech Republic? Has it improved in recent years? What should we work on as a company?
I think we are on a dead end in institutional care. We can prepare and train a student, a professional, an entrepreneur, but we can not get rid of the prejudice that he comes from the "baby", and we should work on it as a company. With the Beginning project we try to point to positive examples of young people from children's homes or foster families. That's why we announce the White Crow Award every year, honoring those who are successful in real life. They knew how to socialize and be involved in life. Their stories are very inspiring for each of us.

Stanislav GörgDoes the project coordinator start well? Since 2012 he is a teacher at the children's home and the dining room of the Usti nad Labem School. He previously worked in other children's homes in the region. He holds a master's degree from the University of Usti, special pedagogy and psychology.
