America supports drinking water in Egypt for $ 13.8 million

Egypt and the United States signed a $ 13.8 million contract to contribute to the capacity building of Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation and its subsidiaries.

The US embassy in Cairo made a statement on Monday stating that this agreement reflects the support of the American people for the priority of access to water and sanitation services, in line with the Egyptian plan for sustainable development – the vision of Egypt 2030.

"In support of the Egyptian government's strategic vision to rehabilitate water and sanitation facilities, USAID will provide technical assistance with a focus on operational efficiency and quality of service," said Sherry Carlin, USAID Director in Egypt.

"This will help the holding company and its subsidiaries to become self-reliant and continue to provide the necessary services to ensure the health and safety of Egyptian families," the embassy added.
