The non-licensing of Tok-Tok wastes the state annually 3 billion pounds

Dr. Hamdy Arafa, a local government professor, said that Egypt has 2 million and 900 thousand tuk tuk of which only 11 thousand have received a permit, adding that nine provinces in Egypt have abolished the Tok Tok approvals.

"The decision of the minister of local development to license the tuk tuk is valid and bold: the lack of permits is wasting the state 3 billion pounds between traffic fines and licensing fees," Arafa said during a telephone conversation with the program "Here the Capital".

Arafa pointed out that Egypt had stopped importing "tuk tuk" for four years and that only imported parts were allowed, but some "Bear El Salam" factories collected spare parts and produced "tuk tuk".
