Renault Koleos Facelift makes Spyshots debut

No, not the Kadjar facelift … Koleos, the big one. Renault has just started testing a renewed version of its large SUV in Southern Europe.

To be honest, we do not understand why Koleos needs a makeover. The model was put on the market in Europe in 2017. Of course, the sales were not that great, because not many people want to pay top euros for a French car when the German brands are so well established.

As far as facelifts are concerned, this is not bad at all. The front has received a lot of work, including new LED headlights, fog light surrounds and a narrower head grille. The overall effect is of a more serious "face" for the SUV.

The camouflage on the sides covers an area where the Koleos had useless door cladding just below the mirror. We did not like the fake Range Rover one of both. In the meantime, designers have redesigned the rear lights and the lower bumper.

It is too early to talk about the interior, especially because Renault is not known for the most advanced systems in the company. But we could see that the Koleos got revisions on the seat and dashboard upholstery. Do not forget that this facelift has been spotted for a year in the life cycle of the model, so do not expect any major changes.

What can be revised is the engine range, especially since the EU is maintaining new emission regulations from September. All cars, including cars & # 39; s powered by petrol, have particle filters. You will also see emissions rising above all Koleos models, probably resulting in higher taxes in some countries.

At the moment, Europe has only two types of engine, a 1.6-liter diesel with 130 hp and a 2-liter with 175 hp. We have heard that a 1.7 dCi is being developed to replace the latter and is expected to produce up to 150 PK. Everything should be announced around the middle of 2019 when this facelift becomes available.
