The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has united the two representatives of employers, the Ethiopian Employers' Federation and the Confederation of Employers in Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian employers 'federation, the pioneer federation of more than two decades and the confederation of employers in Ethiopia, which was founded almost a year ago, had a long-standing dispute over the assumption of power by leaders of employers' organizations and federations.
"The split has caused inconvenience to the functioning of the government," said Prime Minister Hirut Woldemariam (PhD).
"By unifying the two institutions, we want to have a strong employers' federation," said Hirut.
The agreement was signed by Tadele Yimer President of the Federation and Getahun Husein, President of the Confederation. The new confederation will start within 15 days.
