Ethiopia says it welcomes Vietnamese investors

Ethiopia announced that it would welcome more Vietnamese investors in the trade and production sector. It said it would offer attractive incentive packages for Vietnamese companies and entrepreneurs, especially for those engaged in priority sectors. Vietnamese business delegation consisting of 50 businessmen who were discussed with Ethiopian officials about possible investment areas and opportunities in Ethiopia.

The Minister of Planning and Industry in Vietnam said that Ethiopia has a strategic location for the global market, adding that Ethiopia would be the trade and production destination of Vietnamese investors. The Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Afework Kassu, said: "Ethiopia has taken a useful step in becoming an attractive place to do business on the African continent with expanding infrastructure such as industrial parks, railways, energy and road networks."
