16 August 2018 – Several Ethiopian political parties met in Addis Ababa to discuss reconciliation and build democracy in Ethiopia, according to FBC report.
The meeting included 50 political parties, including six who recently returned home. It also included academics, representatives of religious institutions and civil society organizations.
Topics discussed were the ongoing reforms initiated by Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed, including the removal of OLF, Ginbot 7 and ONLF from the terror list, Ethio-Eritrea peace, and the reconciliation of two synods of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. .
Paticipants noted that all political parties are required to take an active part in tackling various problems and moving the country forward in reforms.
The parties also accused failure in leadership for the conflicts in different parts of the country, saying that our leaders are the main sources of the conflicts in their respective areas.
