Ethiopia brings a conceptual master plan to build the real "WAKANDA" in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
Mikal Kamil, co-founder of Hub City Live – Ethiopia said during the workshop dedicated today to the launch of the program that the project aims to establish Ethiopia as the first African technocratic government.
He said: "It is aimed at building a technological, futuristic city with indigenous Ethiopian technology and an autonomous economic region that would benefit the youth and the country."
"As one of the early civilizations, the cradle of man, the source of Blue Nile, and a pleasant environment and beautiful geographical structure", Ethiopia especially makes Bahir Dar suitable for the project, Kamil said.
"The most important thing is the geographical position [of Bahir Dar] it most closely resembles the city & # 39; WAKANDA & # 39; in the movie Black Panther & # 39 ;, he noted.
Minister of Science and Technology Getahun Mekuria said that the project is very necessary for our country, in which the urban population increases considerably over the course of time.
It is a great advantage to establish technologically advanced cities to improve the lives of people and to create opportunities for young people, he added.
The center is expected to house several technological innovations that are widely used in the world.
It would also serve as a learning center for different people and institutions active in the field of science and technology.
The ministry, the federal government and the regional government of Amhara are working together for the realization of the project that is expected to cost two to three billion US dollars, he stated.
The project is expected to be completed for eight to ten years. (ENA)
