SMIC, net salary, activity premium, gas price …: what will change on 1 October

Increase the net salary

From 1 October the unemployment contributions of private employees will disappear. In exchange, the CSG will be increased. Net result on the payroll: a small increase.

This commitment by the President of the Republic allows a net purchasing power gain equal to 1.45% of the gross salary for all employees in the private sector, ie around 266 euros for a salary of 1,500 euros gross per month.

Increase of the activity premium

For people with low incomes, the activity bonus is increased by 20 euro October 1. On average, approximately 2.4 million households enjoy the activity premium each month.

According to the government, further increases are promised for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 to gradually achieve a monthly purchasing power, plus 80 euros for an employee who touches the SMIC.

Revalorization of Smic

Employees who are reimbursed by the Smic will receive 15 euros more from 1 October. An effect of the mechanical revaluation of the system and the exemption of employee contributions for unemployment insurance. According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Smic's net hourly wage will therefore amount to 7.83 euros. That is 1188 euros per month.

Child Guard

The ceiling of the complementary free choice of guard mode (CMG) will be revalued by 30% from 1 October. It is clear that, depending on the resources of your family and the number of hours of care, you can achieve this revaluation up to 250 euros per month. This childcare assistance is paid to parents who use a mother assistant, a micro nursing or home care (for every child under six).

Gas prices

Regulated tariffs rise on average by 3.25% in October for private individuals. In practice, households using gas for heating will experience the largest increase (3.3%). Those who only use it for cooking will increase by 1%, while households for dual use will increase by an average of 2%.

Dematerialisation of public contracts

With the reform of the law of public order that came into force on 1 April 2016 and in accordance with the new European rules, the objective of a complete dematerialisation of public procurement procedures has been set by 1 October 2018. One is there.

It is clear that companies or associations that want to receive a public contract (more than 25,000 euros excluding taxes) must submit their application electronically. And they will receive the agreement in the same way or not.

Cigarettes: new prices from 22 October

New tobacco prices will take effect from 22 October, with a very slight increase for some references, according to a ministerial decision published on Sunday in the official journal.

These changes have only a minor impact on the average price of a package of 20 cigarettes, stable at 7.90 euros. Average prices of other packaging are also stable, say the ministry of action and public accounts, as well as that of health in a joint statement. In fact, the increases are only a few cents and affect very few references.
