Château-Gontier and Azé together, hand in hand. It will be done within a few months.

Yesterday, Friday 31 August, the mayors of the two municipalities officially closed their trade union. A merger after a few months of work and consultation. Initially, Saint-Fort had to participate in the project before retiring several weeks ago.

The new city clearly has a new name, we do not know yet. With more than 15,000 inhabitants it becomes the second most populated city in the department, before Mayenne.

The implementation schedule is tight. Everything must be done before the end of the year. The two municipal councils will have to deliberate this autumn to ratify the merger.

With this creation, new services are presented to the population around 4 priorities: mobility, youth, health and safety.

The ambition is to build a large community of agglomerations in the medium term, so that South Mayenne becomes an attractive territory at regional level.
