Herault. Bitumen on roads is soon replaced by pine residue – France

On the road to ecological roads in the Hérault? The Eiffage company is conducting an experiment in the department to replace the bitumen with a "vegetable binder". It is a residue from the manufacture of kraft paper made from den, as reported by France Bleu. This experiment, paid for by the department Hérault, is carried out on a part of 2.5 km of the departmental road D26 between Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers and Guzargues. A similar experiment was carried out in Gironde at the beginning of July. After a specific follow-up of the road section – check that the road does not deform, that there are no holes … – the process can be validated.
