Klopp’s Liverpool are shaking their way to the eighth finals

Liverpool FC have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Klopp-Elf was enough to win against Ajax Amsterdam. A player from his own youth scored the goal of the evening.

Jürgen Klopp can spare himself all the math games. His replacement weakened Reds team won 1-0 against Ajax Amsterdam and is group winner in the round of 16.

Liverpool struggled with Ajax, but after their defeat against Atalanta Bergamo the week before, they were harmless and won the group early thanks to Curtis Jones (58th).

City with Remis

Competitor Manchester City also succeeded with a 0-0 draw at FC Porto, which is second in the group and also in the last 16.

Klopp, who already missed numerous regular customers, had to replace goalkeeper Alisson against the Dutch record champion in the short term. In front of him, the 22-year-old Champions League debutant Caoimhin Kelleher pushed between the posts.

Atalanta Bergamo with national player Robin Gosens saved a 1: 1 (0: 1) against the previously pointless Danish champion FC Midtjylland and now needs a draw in the group final at Ajax to continue.

RB Salzburg kept his chance for the eighth finals in the Bayern group. The Austrian champion won 3-1 (2-0) at Lokomotiv Moscow and also benefited from the Munich draw at Atletico Madrid.
