Brandenburg: Steinmeier visits Brandenburg Uckermark

BPresident of the Federal Presidency, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, visits the Brandenburg Uckermark on Friday (10.30 am). As part of its initiative "Land in sight – future of the countryside", the head of state wants to hold talks with the police and firefighters, staff of a crèche and the parents of the children who are being cared for, as well as volunteers.

In Templin a meeting with cultural workers is planned in the multicultural center, as well as a meeting with doctors and nurses from the local hospital. In the run-up to the trip, Steinmeier warned of a black-and-white view of rural areas as a "natural idyll" on one side and as a suspended region on the other. In mid-July, the president had already visited the Bavarian districts of Freyung-Grafenau and Passau.
