Monorail accident in the Europa-Park
Rust Only a short time ago a fire raged in the Europa-Park Rust. Now a new shock: two trains from the suspension rail collide, one of them is completely occupied. The guests are lucky with bad luck.
Two people were slightly injured in the collision of two trains from the suspension track in the Europa-Park Rust. According to the police Saturday morning a completely occupied train of the "Europa-Park Express" was on an empty train. The cause was initially unclear. A passenger and the driver were slightly injured. The driver had a shock. For the amount of material damage, there was initially no information.
The incident at a few meters height would have disappeared slightly. The broken train, according to the police, drove back to the train station of the hotel where she had come from. Passengers could leave the train via the station. The injured driver continued his visit to the amusement park later with his companions.
"The incident has no influence on the operations", said a spokesman for the park at Freiburg. The traffic of the lane, which visitors drive through the amusement park, was already around lunchtime.
The "Europa Park Express" takes visitors through the park at a few meters in height, among other things, at the main entrance and at the hotel on the site. In contrast to the attractions, the suspension rail is fairly quiet on the way. The Europa-Park describes the experiential value on its homepage with the category: "relaxed". There are no age and size restrictions.
Only at the end of May there had been a major fire in the Europa-Park, during which the circuit "Pirates in Batavia" was burnt down. On the whole, there was damage with a double digit range. Cause was probably a technical defect.
The almost 100-hectare Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg, opened in 1975, is the largest and most visited amusement park in Germany. According to its own account, it counts more than 5.5 million visitors per year.
