A wrong driver has killed a 34-year-old on the Autobahn 8 in Upper Bavaria. "The man was thrown out of the car and rolled over," the police said on Sunday. The accident near Holzkirchen during the night seriously injured two other people in the same car. The 55-year-old faulty driver from Berlin came to the hospital slightly injured.
The Berliner's car was at high speed on the opposite lane between Hofolding and Holzkirchen in the direction of Munich. Around 3:20 am several callers had reported the wrong driver to the police. However, the officers could not stop the man.
Less than ten minutes after the first emergency calls, the wrong driver crashed into the car of a 54-year-old from Munich at the Rastkirch Holzkirchen level. His car tipped over. As a result, the 34-year-old of the back seat was thrown on the road. Later cars could not slow down and rolled the man. He died at the scene of the accident. After the initial findings, he did not wear a safety belt.
Rescuers brought the 54-year-old and his 36-year-old passenger to the hospital with serious injuries. The A8 was closed for a few hours until Sunday morning. There were no larger traffic jams.
Why the Berlin came on the opposite track should now clarify research. "He was not an alcoholic," said a police spokesman. Further information, the researchers hope for hearing the 55-year-olds and a testimony.
The crash is the second fatal accident with a ghost driver within a week: on Thursday a 63-year-old on the A7 after roaming kilometers in Schweinfurt in another car collided and died. The cause of the accident was initially unclear until the autopsy of the man on Saturday. DPA
