Borussia Dortmund – RB Leipzig 4: 1 (3: 1)

Borussia Dortmund has successfully started the new season under the new coach Lucien Favre. The Westfalen defeated on Sunday despite an early RB Leipzig back home with 4: 1 and celebrated in the second competitive match under Favre the second victory.

Jean-Kevin Augustin brought the Saxons after three seconds ahead of 0-0 in the Europa League qualifier on FK Sorja Luhansk – it was the first goal in the history of the Bundesliga of RB Leipzig. Mahmoud Dahoud (21st minute), Marcel Sabitzer with his own goal (40.) and new signing Axel Witsel (43.) already made the match for BVB before the break. Captain Marco Reus rose shortly before the end to 4: 1 (90 + 1).

Mainz – VfB Stuttgart 1: 0 (0: 0)

The FSV Mainz 05 closed its opening round in the Bundesliga with a 1-0 against VfB Stuttgart. For 28.705 spectators, Anthony Ujah (76th minute) scored the winning goal. After three defeats in each of the first league games of the past three years, the Rheinhessen went this time as the winner of the square. The last success at the start of the season was for Mainz in the 2013/14 season – then also against Stuttgart.
