Dusseldorf-Holthausen:
The elderly person dies in tram accident
Dusseldorf In a serious accident with a tram on Saturday, an elderly woman died in Düsseldorf. Countless spectators would have noticed the salvage work.
As reported by the police, the accident happened at 12.00 on the Bonner Straße in Düsseldorf. According to the first findings, the older woman was hit between the cars when getting off the tram. All help came too late for them.
The salvage work was difficult, according to the police, because the train had to be lifted to free the woman. The fire brigade was on location with 40 firefighters. About the age of the elderly fire department and police gave various information. Accordingly, the woman was 81 or 82 years old. Three employees of Rheinbahn were in shock and were looked after by a Notfallseelsorger.
According to the fire department, there were many spectators at the scene of the accident. "Even parents with small children stayed in the immediate vicinity of the accident to see the emergency services at work," said the fire brigade. They would not have disabled the emergency services immediately.
Delays in the Rheinbahn
Due to the deployment, the Rheinbahn will experience delays and cancellations: passengers on the U74 and U77 lines take the U79 line from the Kaiserslautern Strasse to the Südpark and get into the replacement buses there. The buses then travel over the university grounds and over the Münchener Straße to Niederheid. The stops between Niederheid and the Kaiserslautern or the South Park can therefore not be approached by the replacement buses. Bus lines 789 and 835 also end in Niederheid, a trip to Holthausen is not possible. This was announced on Saturday by the Rheinbahn.
