In a letter to Health Minister Xanthos and Deputy Minister of Health, Mr Polakis, the mayor stressed that the health center is underdeveloped and that the indignation of the citizens has become impenetrable.
In detail his letter:
"We will return as the municipality of Kissamos and as a local community about the operation of the Kissamos Health Center.
We appreciate your efforts to strengthen with permanent medical staff and ambulance staff, but are not sufficient for the growing needs of health services to residents and visitors of the area, you are also aware of the territorial competence of the Kissamos health center.
With this letter I would like to write to you in writing what I have mentioned both orally and during my recent visit to the administrator of the 7th health district in Crete.
It is inconceivable that there is no ambulance in operation at the Kissamos Health Center. Unfortunately, the ambulance was sent as a donation from the EKAB worse than the health center. This results in two ambulances being registered as assets, but neither is functional. The indignation of the citizens has reached the unfinished.
Dear ministers, the last day a citizen left for life because there was no ambulance when it arrived after 2 hours late. Maybe he lived now.
New ambulances were taken into use in Crete. Why did not he come to the Kissamos Health Center?
Dear ministers, Take it for granted and equip ambulances with the Kissamos Health Center. We, as a congregation, see this incredible injustice being done at the expense of the lives of the citizens, we have started the procedures for buying a new ambulance.
Until then, however, we must ask you to solve the problem. "
