Werder Bremen took the lead in the 13th minute with a goal from Leonardo Bittencourt, but Wolfsburg turned around in just over ten minutes: first Bote Baku and then John Brooks. The first half was far from over, as Kevin Möhwald equalized and Wout Weghorst took back the lead.

After the inning, Brooks sent the ball with an unfortunate move into his own goal, but Wolfsburg took the lead again with the second goal from Weghorst.

In his hair, Möhwald also took his second yellow card, after which 19-year-old Polish striker Bartosz Bialek, who entered the field in the 95th minute, also scored, so Wolfsburg eventually won 5-3, and Werder Bremen were beaten in the league after five consecutive draws.
