According to the Prime Minister, the Hungarian language is related to Turkish languages. The Eötvös Loránd University thinks it is different.

During his visit to Kyrgyzstan, the Hungarian Prime Minister stated that the Hungarian language is related to Turkish languages, but a professional says that the Prime Minister's statement is wrong.

László Klima, researcher at ELTE BTK, Hungarian Language Linguistics and Finno-Ugric Institute 24.huexplains why:

there are simply no grammatical links between the Hungarian and the Turkish languages that can be used to determine language skills.

According to Klima, the Turkish-Hungarian relationship is not unknown to science, but it is important to emphasize that it is not a linguistic relationship but a cultural relationship.

"With linguistic arguments, cultural arguments can not be denied, and cultural arguments can not be denied linguistic arguments," he said.

Turku-related theories appeared in the Árpád era in Hungary, but only in the works of medieval chronicles did the image of Turkish sympathy and the consequent connection with the Huns appear. At the beginning of the 16th century, István Werbőczy introduced the law into law tripartitum (Hungarian quote book).

Klima thinks that the image of Turkish kinship could become one of the foundations of a noble way of thinking, and later a part of the Hungarian national consciousness. For scientists, however, it turned out to be a sharp distinction between linguistic and cultural affinities in the 19th century.

According to experts there is no doubt that there are many Turkish words in the Hungarian language, but it is good to know that the words of the Finnish-Ugric base language are the highest in our language.
