The ITR-V checks the income tax return after submission. It is a one-page document that you must submit to the income tax department to process your declaration. The tax return process is incomplete until you submit ITR-V. You must sign the document and send it via a regular mail or quick message. You can not send the ITR-V and you do not need to send supporting documents with the ITR-V.
The taxpayer must send the duly signed copy of ITR-V to "Income Tax Department – CPC, Post Bag No. 1, Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore – 560100, Karnataka" within 120 days after uploading the return by ordinary mail or Speed mail (without confirmation).
However, an assessee can verify ITR online. There are several ways you can verify your ITR on the e-filing portal of the income tax department. You must generate an EVC or electronic verification code for each method. This code is used to verify your tax return online.
The ITR-V form may only be printed in black ink and only on A4 white paper. Do not use another ink option to print ITR-V and make sure the prints are clear and bright. Also do not print watermark marks on ITR-V, because the only permissible watermark is that of the IT department that is automatically printed on each ITR V. The document sent to CPC must be signed in original and a photocopy of signatures will not be accepted. The signatures or any handwritten text may not be written on the barcode and the numbers below the barcode must be clearly visible. Care should be taken that the barcode printed in the ITR-V is not folded into the envelope.
If you have not received a copy of ITR-V in your e-mail ID or if the ITR-V received in your e-mail is not opened because it is a damaged file, please log in to incometaxindia filing. gov.in and click View returns / Forms link. Select the option "Income tax return" and relevant "Assessment year" and press the "Send" button. Click on Confirmation number of the ITR for which you want to download ITR V. Select the "ITR-V / Confirmation" tab. Your ITR-V is being downloaded. The password to open ITR-V is a combination of PAN (in lowercase) and DOB in & ddmmyyyy & # 39; format. CPC Bangalore will send an e-mail confirmation after receipt of ITR V. It must be within 4-5 days after sending ITR-V to Bangalore. You can also check the status of ITR-V reception by CPC Bangalore online at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
