16 injured by cylinder blast in 4-story Mumbai building, residents evacuated – India News

Sixteen people were injured when a gas cylinder detonation exploded Sunday morning in a four-story residential building in Lalbaug, Mumbai. Two fire and two jumbo tankers were rushed to the site, ANI news agency quoted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The explosion in the Sarabhai Building was reported around 7:23 AM and the fire resulting from the explosion was extinguished at 7:50 AM. After the blast, the building’s residents were transferred to Hotel Hiramani in Lalbaug.

Of the 16 injured, 12 were rushed to King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital in the city and four to Global Hospital. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar visited KEM hospital to receive the injured.
