Bhim Army founder Chandrashekhar who is in prison since his arrest in June last year, was rliberated from the prison of Saharanpurearly Friday morning.
He was arrested last year on 8 June by Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh and was posted after the National Security Act after caste conflicts in the Saharanpur of Western Uttar Pradesh, leaving one dead and many wounded. On 2 November, his detention under the NSA was extended for another six months.
After his release from the Saharanpur prison, Chandrashekhar was quoted by ANI and said: "The government was so afraid that they would be reprimanded by the Supreme Court, that they had ordered an early release to save themselves."
"I am confident that they will take a few charges against me within 10 days," he said.
The founder of the Bhim army accused the state government of misusing his machinary. "I will continue my fight for marginalized people against injustice," he added.
Hundreds of supporters of the Bhim army who gathered outside the prison chanted Bhim Army Zindabad & # 39; and & # 39; Chandrashekhar Zindabad & # 39; while their leader walked out. Overwhelmed supporters hurled him and handed out sweets to express their happiness after 15 months of imprisonment about his release.
Bhim Army's district chairman Kamal Walia claimed that the release of Chandrashekhar was the victory of the faith of the people in him and will give new strength and strength to the supporters of the outfit.
Bhim army supporters had arrived outside the district prison overnight, anxiously awaiting the release of their leader, but the district administration liberated him strategically around 3.00 am to prevent any chaos.
Chandrashekher's mother, brother, and other family members also arrived there and welcomed him with a wreath. Bhim Army supporters then took him in a procession.
Chandrashekher had formed Bhim Army together with his collaborator Vinay Ratan Singh on July 21, 2015 to force Dalits and marginalized people.
The Bhim army has influence in Saharanpur although it has supporters in all parts of the Western UP.
Leaders claim that the organization has so far opened 300 schools in Saharanpur and neighboring districts offering free education to children of dalits and marginalized people.
In the midst of the increasing popularity of the Bhim army, Bahawjan Samaj party president Mayawati accused the BJP of supporting it to focus on the BSP to build an alliance of all castes in UP.
