"Annu Rani and Monika Chaudhary were not selected because their performance in confirmatory investigations was not considered satisfactory by the selection committee," said CK Valson, AFI secretary. The confirmation tests were held on Independence Day at different locations.
Meanwhile, from the 400m group that had a camp in the Czech Republic, Anu Raghvan clocked 57.43 seconds into the 400m hurdles of confirming trials to book her berth for the Asian Games. Saritaben Gaikwad, who is already part of the Indian 4x400m Indian women's team, also gave a test for 400m hurdles and clocked 57.04 seconds.
All other athletes who have approved the confirming tests are high jumper Chetan B, 50km racer Sandeep Kumar, long jumpers Neena Pinto and Nayana James, discus thrower Sandeep Kumari, Jauna Murmuin (400 m obstacles) and Nirmala (400 m).
