Javelin thrower Annu Rani and 1500 meter runner Monika Chaudhary were both dropped from the Asian Games squad after their performance in the confirmatory tests proved to be unsatisfactory by the selection committee.

The selection committee, which met under the chai rinnerschap of the Olympic GS Randhawa at the AFI office, also asked the shooter Naveen Chikara to test another Monday.
Chikara should travel late Friday night to Jakarta, but is now asked to stay back.
"Annu Rani and Monika Chaudhary were not selected because their performance in confirmatory investigations was not considered satisfactory by the selection committee," said CK Valson, AFI secretary. The confirmation tests were held on Independence Day at different locations.
Meanwhile, from the 400m group that had a camp in the Czech Republic, Anu Raghvan clocked 57.43 seconds into the 400m hurdles of confirming trials to book her berth for the Asian Games. Saritaben Gaikwad, who is already part of the Indian 4x400m Indian women's team, also gave a test for 400m hurdles and clocked 57.04 seconds.
All other athletes who have approved the confirming tests are high jumper Chetan B, 50km racer Sandeep Kumar, long jumpers Neena Pinto and Nayana James, discus thrower Sandeep Kumari, Jauna Murmuin (400 m obstacles) and Nirmala (400 m).
