Rahi Sarnobat, 27-year-old, became the first woman shooter to win a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018 on Wednesday. She won a gold medal in the 25m-gun fight at the Jakabaring shooting range in Palembang, after a double victory shoot-off.

The final went into the shoot-off after Rahi and Naphaswan Yangpaiboon from Thailand were tied at 34 points. Both Rahi and Yangpaiboon shot four of the five shots in the first shoot-off, and when in the second shoot-off the Indian had the upper hand on her opponent by missing one less.

However, earlier in the day, Manu Bhaker failed to stand up for the opportunity, as the ten shooter finished sixth after entering the final with a record record of qualifying games of 593.
