CHENNAI: In an additional attraction for visitors to the Chennai Rail Museum (CRM), the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) installed an air-conditioned rail bus restaurant at the museum in Chennai. The facility called & # 39; Chennai Express & # 39; was inaugurated on Friday. According to a statement, the interior of an LHB (Linke Hoffman Busch) air-conditioning body of a coach, delivered by the ICF, luxuriously arranged in collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to improve the experience of the visitors. The coach restaurant is staffed by the IRCTC.
Officer said that this was the second restaurant in the country, while the first was managed by the IRCTC in Bhopal. "The coach restaurant has a seating capacity of 64. Each seat has enough space and we have made some design changes based on the feedback from the passengers in the first bus restaurant in Bhopal," said the official.
Further explaining, according to sources, lamps are designed to give an antique touch with observation windows at both ends of the carriages. "The exterior of the coach restaurant is painted with modern art, and the bus restaurant platform is designed to resemble a train station that matches the Chennai Express restaurant," additional sources. The restaurant serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes from Chinese, Continental, North Indian and South Indian cuisine.
