Specifications and features of Apple iPad Pro (2018)
As mentioned above, the new iPad version of 2018 is offered in 11-inch and 12.9-inch screen sizes, but has a much smaller footprint thanks to the new edge-to-edge display design. Unlike the new iPhones that come with OLED panels, the new iPad Pro is still supplied with Retina LCD displays, but with higher resolution and pixel density.
In addition to the larger display, Apple has also deactivated the home button with Touch ID fingerprint scanner and completely migrated to Face ID for biometric authentication. It is worth noting that Face ID works both in portrait and in landscape mode. And if there is no start button, you have to use gestures to navigate through the user interface.
Under the bonnet, the iPad Pros are powered by an A12X bionic chipset made on 7nm process. It has 10 billion transistors, an octa-core CPU and 7-core GPU. There is also a special neural engine for machine learning and AI-related tasks. Finally, Apple also dumped the Lightning port on the tablet and switched to USB Type-C port. The iPad Pros also have front and rear cameras. At the back you have a 12-megapixel sensor and a 7-megapixel sensor on the front, along with the True Depth sensor for scanning 3D faces.
