Uzone.id – According to the latest Kaspersky report, the number of attacked users increased by 774 thousand in 2018 compared to the previous year to 9,895,774.

Among the general threats, the largest increase was attacks with Trojan-Droppers, which almost doubled from 8.63% to 17.21%. This type of malware is designed to penetrate system security and channel all types of malware there, ranging from bank Trojans to ransomware.

Still in the same Kaspersky Lab report, showing that Indonesia was 6th last year in countries with the highest number of users being attacked by mobile malware, which was 34.84%, which corresponds to three out of ten mobile users in Indonesia ,

This proves that cyber criminals regard Indonesia as a fairly soft target in this type of threat.

"Cyber ​​criminals will never stop hunting for money and valuable data. Smartphones are currently at risk of being exposed to these threats because of technological innovations such as digital payments," said Yeo Siang Tiong, General Manager at Kaspersky Lab SEA.

Siang Tiong added, which has had a detrimental effect on the effects of mobile attacks.

"In 2018, mobile device users were confronted with the most serious cyber attack that was possible. During this year, we observed the latest techniques for infecting mobile devices, such as DNS piracy, and an increased focus on increasingly sophisticated distribution schedules & # 39; "Like SMS spam," said ViTtor Chebyshev, a security expert at Kaspersky Lab.

"This trend shows an increasing need for mobile security solutions to be installed on smartphones – to protect users from attempts by malicious attacks that can infect devices regardless of the source," he added.
