JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Health Minister Nila Farid Moeloek asked the public to be alert to the spread of the monkey pox virus.
This call was transmitted because the virus originating from West Africa was currently being discovered in Singapore.
"Initially, this disease only existed in Africa, especially in the western part, Congo, Liberia and Ivory Coast, Nigeria." We are worried because we have now arrived in Singapore, "Nila said in the presidential palace complex in Jakarta, Tuesday (14/5/2019).

That is why the Ministry of Health is strengthening access to Indonesia. Monitoring starts from the closest to Singapore, such as Batam, to airports with flight routes from Singapore.
"We are concerned because there are many entrances, so that is the main entrance from Singapore, namely the port of Batam, we are strengthening it, also all ports with health offices, we are strengthening it in the canteen," Nila said.
Especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Nila confirmed that it was equipped with body temperature detection equipment.
Travelers who are detected therefore have a high body temperature and are immediately quarantined for medical examination.

Symptoms of this disease, namely that the patient has a fever and rash looks hot throughout the body.
To anticipate the spread of the monkey pox virus, the Health Minister called Nila on the public to maintain cleanliness in their daily lives.
"Wash your hands before eating. If you cough, use a mask. This is actually a virus that cannot be cured. It is a matter of endurance. If the body's resistance is good, we can spread a little. The chances are small, "Nila said.
He also recommends Muslims who fast for extra supplements to increase endurance during the month of Ramadan.
