JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Seated presidential candidate Joko Widodo claimed not to have received a letter of request to meet his rival, Prabowo Subianto.
Jokowi had already had direct contact with the secretary of state secretary Pratikno when a letter from Prabowo had arrived.
But until Thursday (08/23/2018) no letter from Prabowo had been received by the palace this morning.
"The letter I asked the State Secretary has not been received," Jokowi told reporters from the PP Muhammadiyah Office, Jakarta, Thursday (23-08-2018).

After not receiving the letter, Jokowi hesitated to comment further on the planned meeting with Prabowo.
"So I do not know yet, I can not answer," said Jokowi.
Prabowo's desire to meet President Jokowi was revealed earlier when he met vice president Jusuf Kalla on Wednesday (08/15/2018).

Also present at the meeting was the vice-presidential candidate of Prabowo, Sandiaga Uno.
Prabowo admitted that he wanted to establish a good democracy and put forward the values of politeness.
The meeting with President Jokowi, said Prabowo, will be scheduled after the commemoration of RI's August 17, 2018 anniversary.
"We will also ask for time (to meet) Pak Jokowi," Prabowo said when giving information after the meeting.
Meanwhile Sandiaga said on Wednesday that he had sent a letter to the palace, but there was no answer.
