KPK reminds 5 members of North Sumatra DPRD of bribes for cooperatives



JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) warned five suspects of a former North Sumatra member of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to cooperate with the KPK audit agenda.

KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said, the five suspects did not participate in the previous investigation and today, Tuesday (08/21/2018).

They planned to be investigated in connection with a case of alleged bribery by the former governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pudjo Nugroho against a number of North Sumatra DPRD members.

"The KPK reminded all suspects in this case to be present, if they were called as a suspect or witness. Because it is a legal obligation," Febri said in a written statement on Tuesday (21-08-2018).

Five suspects who did not attend the hearing were Abdul Hasan Maturidi. He was summoned on July 17, 2018. However, Abdul did not meet the examination agenda.

According to Febri, Abdul was not present today because he was in business. The KPK believes that the reason is inappropriate.

"While the RDP (Rahmianna Delima Pulungan) sent a letter, there was a family event, which is why we deem it inappropriate, so that it will be called back later," Febri said.

Rahmianna was registered as being summoned on July 16, 2018. But he was not present at the investigation without a clear explanation.

Another suspect, Ferry Suando Tanuray Kaban was absent without clear information. Restu Kurniawan Sarumaha then sent a letter of application for rescheduling on Friday (08/24/2018).

"Both were called on August 14, 2018. But they were not present without information," Febri said.

Meanwhile, Washington Pane sent a sick report to Columbia Medan Hospital, North Sumatra.

"Researchers are considering whether they want to check the validity of the sick letter," he said.

Washington had previously failed to meet the audit agenda on 14 August 2018. He sent an absence letter to the KPK on the basis of his assignment from the office.

"We urge you not to seek excuses for not attending this legal process, remember, cooperative attitudes will be better for suspects or the ongoing legal process," Febri continued.

They are part of the 38 members of the North Sumatra Democratic People's Republic who have been appointed as suspects by the KPK.

Bribery for the 38 North Sumatra Democratic People's Republic was related to the approval of the accountability report of the provincial government of North Sumatra for the financial year 2012-2014 of the North Sumatra Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the North Sumatra Provincial APBD Amendment Agreement 2013- 2014.

Subsequently in connection with the approval of the financial year 2014-2015 and the rejection of the use of interpellation rights of North Sumatra DPRD members in 2015.

The council members would have received bribes in the form of gifts or promises from the former governor of the province of North Sumatra, Gatot Pujo Nugroho.

The alleged compensation of Gatot for each member of the North Korean DPRD ranged from Rp 300 million to Rp 350 million.
