Mount Bromo tourist route via Malang is temporarily closed

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PROBOLINGGO – The tourist route of the Bromo mountain, East Java, by the Malang route was temporarily closed since Saturday (1/9) until today, Sunday (2/9). Closing through forest fires and savannas in the area Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS).

"For the time being, the route from Mount Bromo via Malang is being diverted to Pasuruan, so that tourists can still visit Bromo via Pasuruan and Probolinggo," said Head of Tourism Management Section 1 of Sarmin Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) when contacting Probolinggo , Sunday (2/9).

The three routes to Mount Bromo at an altitude of 2329 meters above sea level (masl) are in Probolinggo Regency via Ngadas Village, Sukapura Subdistrict, then from the direction of Pasuruan it can pass through Wonokitri Village, Tosari District, and now it is temporarily closed from Lumajang and Malang via Jemplang Block.

"Access to Probolinggo and Pasuruan is still safe for tourists, so Mount Bromo is still open to the general public," he said.

He hopes that the forest and the savannah can be extinguished on Sunday afternoon, so that the tourist route Monte Bromo can be reopened by Jemplang Block, Malang and tourists from the direction of Malang can serve. "Hopefully tomorrow the tourist route Monte Bromo via Malang can become normal again," he said.

Forests and savannas on the Bromo mountain, the area of ​​the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, burned on Saturday (1/9) in the afternoon and until Sunday afternoon the fire was not completely extinguished. A total of 320 joint staff members were deployed to carry out forest fires and Mount Bromo savannas. They come from TNBTS officers, Polri, TNI, BPBD, Perhutani and tourism services around the fire site.

TNBTS is still unaware of the causes of forest fires that have started from the hotspots in sagged sticks in the Watu Gede Jemplang Block area that entered the Ngadas Village area, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency.
