Suspect of bribe PLTU Riau-1 Eni Saragih will file justice officer at KPK – The suspect in the alleged bribery case of the Riau PLTU-1 development project Eni Saragih intends to apply as an authorized employee (JC). Eni claimed to cooperate with KPK investigators to resolve the cases that have dragged him.

"Certainly (filing JC), we have said from the outset that Ms. Eni will be cooperative," said Eni Robinson's lawyer when confirmed on Saturday (1/9).

He hopes that with this JC contribution his client will be able to lighten the judgment later in the trial. In addition, Eni also promised not to complicate the process of the case study.

"The goal is to find relief at JC," he said.

Robinson confirmed that the politician of the Golkar party would reveal the parties involved in this bribery case. So far, former Vice-President of Commission VII has revealed that the PLTU Riau-1 project was bribery, one of which was for the Golkar National Congress.

"What is certain is what the researcher asks, as long as it is known what is definitely transmitted, nothing will be covered, as we see it now," explained Robinson.

This alleged bribery case started with a Hand Catching Operation (OTT). The KPK mentioned only three suspects, namely Eni Maulani Saragih, owner of Blackgold Natural Insurance Limited, Johanes Budisutrino Kotjo, and former Secretary General of Golkar Idrus Marham. Idrus, together with Eni, would receive a gift or promise from Johanes regarding this matter.

Idrus would play a role as a party helping Blackgold to work on the PLTU Riau-1 project. The former General Secretary of Golkar promised Johanes 1.5 million USD if Johanes would succeed in working on the project worth 900 million USD.

The Riau-I PLTU project itself is included in the 35,000 Megawatt project that Blackgold wants to work on, PT Samantaka Batubara, PT Pembangkit Jawa-Bali, PT PLN Batubara and China Huadian Engineering Co. Ltd.

The KPK has investigated a number of witnesses in this alleged bribery case, including president-director Sofyan Basir of PT PLN and PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali Managing Director Investment Gunawan Y Hariyanto. Subsequently, PT Pembangunan Jawa Bali (PJB) President of Iwan Agung Firstantara and President and CEO of PT Samantaka Batubara Rudi Herlambang became President.

Investigation to investigate the collusion between PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali (PJB) and PT PLN officials with regard to the direct appointment of Blackgold companies, PT Samantaka Batubara, PT Pembangkit Jawa-Bali, PT PLN Batubara and China Huadian Engineering Co . Ltd became a consortium that worked on the project.

Moreover, Eni Saragih had revealed the role of Sofyan Basir and Kotjo behind bars, until PT PJB managed 51 percent of the assets. With the net asset value, PT PJB can designate Blackgold directly as a partner.

In January 2018, PJB, PLN Batu Bara, BlackGold, Samantaka and Huadian signed a letter of intent (LoI) or a business contract that was not legally binding on the parties. The LoI has been signed to obtain a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Riau-1 PLTU. Samantaka plans to become a coal supplier for PLTU Riau-1. [bal]
