Now that the new year has officially arrived, it is safe to assume that there are plenty of gamers still spending time with a number of the top games of 2018, because they look forward to the new releases that are coming. Wait with excitement for the new games that are in store this year, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can choose to spend time with some free titles now available thanks to the Games with Gold line-up for January 2019.
Starting today, owners of Xbox One who have an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold can get the indie darling, Celeste, at no extra cost, with the Matt Makes Games platformer available free of charge throughout the month. The same fans can also obtain the isometric action adventure game Lara Croft and the protector of light now and play through Backward Compatibility. However, there is a shorter window in which you can view the Lara Croft release, as it will be complete again after January 15, 2019.
Halfway through the month, Microsoft will provide Xbox Live Gold subscribers with two more free games. To begin with, the racing game WRC 6: World Rally Championship will be available from January 16 through February 15 at no additional cost Far Cry 2 is offered free of charge from 16 January to 31 January. Just like the previous one Guardian of Light, however, FC2 will go back to the full price after just over two weeks.
When it comes to titles currently available through the Games with Gold program, Xbox fans are well advised to know both Celeste and Lara Croft and the protector of light both solid selections are well worth their time.
