Ambitious 14-acre nursing home and residential construction planned for Blackrock, Louth

A planning request has been submitted this week by Remcoll Capital Ltd for the development of a 14-hectare site on Old Golf Links Road, Blackrock. The broad development comprises 50 houses, a nursing home with 106 beds and a residential complex with 12 units. The residential care facility is managed by the HSE.

If development is approved, full development is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Remcoll & # 39; s project manager, Chris O & # 39; Connor, explained: "We have done a lot of research on what is needed in the area, and the combined requirements for housing and nursing care were clear priorities, we believe the project represents an excellent use of space and we look forward to meeting these needs, subject to approval. "

Michael Lavelle Estate Agents – who negotiated the deal with the developers – explained that the planning request is in progress for 18 months. Joanne Lavelle said: "It is important to have strategic locations like these with ambitious development plans for the building permit, and the site will benefit enormously from these facilities."

A decision on the applications is no later than November 22.
