Ambulance pelted by rocks thrown from viaduct on busy Irish highway



An ambulance was pelted with stones as he drove through a busy highway in Tipperary.

Five vehicles and an emergency unit were damaged on Wednesday evening around midnight in a nonsensical attack in Co Tipperary.

They were hit with stones as they drove past the N7 and the Birdhill viaducts on the M7, according to the Tipperary Star.

It is assumed that the ambulance returned to the University Hospital Limerick when the target was.

Six people were arrested by gardai who investigated the incident.

The arrested group, aged in their teens and early twenties, consists of five men and one woman.

Three of them have been charged with criminal damage.
