Enrollment is now underway for Faughart Community National School.
The school, formerly Scoil Náisiunta Bhrighde, was closed last September after parents had taken their students out of it in a dispute about how the school was run.
Last month it was announced that the school would reopen as Faughart Community National School under the patronage of the Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB). They are now showing interest.
Posting on social media, the LMETB said: "Enroll your son / daughter for Faughart Community National School for 2018/2019? Enrollment forms now available from the School Director, LMETB. Send us an e-mail at [email protected] "
In the community it is generally welcomed that the school reopens after a long-term distance that saw that local children were sent to school last year after a boycott of one day in the previous academic year.
