Drivers are told that they can expect delays on the route this morning
GARDAI and emergency services are having to deal with a crash at Dublin Airport this morning.
Motorists are told to expect delays in the area.
AA Roadwatch said: "There is a crash on the M1 southbound at J2 Dublin Airport and the traffic is very slow before J4 Donabate.
"The vehicles are reportedly in the median."
The Dublin Fire Brigade was also called for a crash on the M50.
They wrote on Twitter: "We are responding to a collision @ M50Dublin J6 Blanchardstown Southbound at the old toll bridge # M50 @aaroadwatch @ DCC Traffic @ LiveDrive."
Last week the Dublin Fire Brigade warned motorists of changeable road conditions after a child with injuries had been taken to the hospital by a smash.
Meanwhile, people who are on their way to the airport this weekend are encouraged to plan their trip.
A spokesman for Dublin Airport said: "Flight operations at Dublin Airport are not expected to be affected by Pope Francis' visit to Ireland on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.
"The weekend will include a number of road closures in Dublin and passengers are advised to take this into account and plan their trip to and from Dublin Airport accordingly.
"Transport providers, including Aircoach and Airlink 747 services, operate their normal services on Saturdays and Sundays, but there are some diversions."
