A man in his sixties was admitted to hospital after a stabbing in a house in South -Dublin tonight.

The incident occurred in the Rutland Grove area of ​​Crumlin around 8 pm.

It is understood that the victim was approached by a lonely man, who stabbed him before he left the scene in the victim's car.

Gardai was alerted to the incident and searches are currently being carried out in the south-city area.
