A young man died after a fatal traffic accident in Mayo.
Gardai investigates after a car was picked up from the Newport River on The Quay Road in Newport, shortly after 07.00 on Saturday morning.
The body of a man in his twenties was removed from the vehicle and transferred to Mayo University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The on-site lane has been closed to enable investigation by Garda forensic crash investigators.
