Six presidential candidates are now on the speaking list of the count of Kildare this Monday



Six presidential hopeful are now recorded to speak at the Monday special meeting of the County Council of Kildare.

Earlier this week, it turned out that three people had applied for the Council on 27 August in connection with a presidential election, Kevin Sharkey, Gavin Duffy and James P Smyth.

Since then, three others have expressed their intention: Joan Freeman, Marie Goretti Moylan and John Groarke.

Each had an estimated speaking time as follows: Gavin Duffy (2.10 pm), Joan Freeman (2.30 pm), Marie Goretti Moylan (2.50 pm), John Groarke (3.10 pm), Kevin Sharkey (3.30 pm) and James P. Smyth (03 : 50).

The public meeting will take place on Monday 27 August at the headquarters of the Council in Aras Chill Dara, Naas at 14.00.

A candidate must receive the support of at least four local authorities or 20 TD & # 39; s and senators to take part in the election race.

The Council can not formally nominate someone until the presidential election is given.

The meeting should give potential candidates for election as President of Ireland the opportunity to attend

and present to the members of the County Council of Kildare.

A Council spokesperson said that potential candidates were advised not to address the members

more than ten minutes and after each address there will be no more than 10 minutes for questions and answers.
