Nominations for the 76th annual Golden Globes were announced on Thursday morning, and hand in hand with nods for the best year in the film are the five contenders for the original song in a film.
The star-studded category consists of Kendrick Lamar ("Black Panther"), Dolly Parton ("Dumplin"), Annie Lennox ("A Private War"), Troye Sivan ("Boy Erased") and Lady Gaga ("A Star is Born").
Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg are organizing the 2019 ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on 6 January. View the full list of nominations here.
Here are the five best original song nominees:
"All the Stars" From "Black Panther"
Lamar wrote the title track & # 39; All the Stars & # 39; for the soundtrack to Black Panther & # 39 ;, the box office sensation that also impressed critics. He played the song with SZA and wrote it together with Mark Spears, Al Shuckburgh, Solana Rowe and Anthony Tiffith.
"Girl in the Movies" From "Dumplin & # 39;"
From the soundtrack to & # 39; Dumplin & # 39 ;, & # 39; a music drama about the daughter of a former beauty queen with the plus size, this Parton-composed song is one of the many songs she wrote for the soundtrack.
"Requiem for a private war" From "A Private War"
Lennox channeled real emotion to write this original song for A Private War, the story of the real journalist Marie Colvin, who knew Lennox personally before Colvin died during the report in Syria in 2012.
"Revelation" From "Boy Erased "
For the soundtrack of "Boy Erased", a film about the son of a preacher forced to go homo-conversion therapy, Sivan wrote this track together with Jonsi from Sigur Ros.
"Shallow" From "A Star Is Born"
Written by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, the top track of "A Star is Born" became a chart-topping radio single.
