Earlier this week, a group of powerful women from the San Fernando Valley and the State of Israel attended the first ladies' lunch at the Friends of Sheba Medical Center. 180 people attended the sold-out event, which successfully raised more than $ 60,000 for the organization's efforts to support pediatric neuro-oncology in the Israeli Sheba Medical Center.

Friends of Sheba Medical Center is proud to announce that her inaugural Women & # 39; s Community Luncheon on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 was a great success. The event celebrated powerful women from Israel and the San Fernando Valley who are working to improve the future of medicine through their support to the Sheba Medical Center, the largest hospital in Israel and the entire Middle East.
Lunch included keynote speaker Dr. Michal Yalon-Oren, head of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Department at the Sheba Medical Center. Dr. Yalon-Oren aims to improve the prognosis of children with brain tumors through individualized therapy, combining clinical work, the most advanced therapy and diagnostic research to develop the best treatment options. 180 participants in the event who were inspired by the innovative work of Dr. ir. Yalon-Ears were moved to donate more than $ 60,000.
Besides the inspiring presentation of Dr. Yalon-Oren, guests were entertained by the emcee Brittney Hopper of the event, and Cantor Emma Lutz of Stephen S. Wise performed the American and Israeli national anthem. The receiving committee chose Dr. Tanya Altmann honors the event for her incredible work as a pediatrician and best-selling author.

Friends of the Sheba Medical Center also organize their annual Gala on Sunday, October 14 to celebrate 70 years of Sheba Medical Center, saving lives and making the land of Israel 70 years old. Actor and comedian Jason Alexander will host the event, which will also welcome the former Sheba Medical Center patient and IDF soldier Ohad Ben Yashad, who once again had to learn how to use his body with the help of the Sheba Rehabilitation Hospital and Dr. Itai Pessach, a doctor for geriatric medicine and deputy director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital, as the speakers for the evening.
