WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump elected as a deputy chairman of the intelligence board a Jewish national security expert known in the pro-Israeli national security community.
Samantha Ravich was appointed to the board on Tuesday, which helps to shape the intelligence policy.
Ravich, former deputy national security advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney, is a senior advisor to the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, an influential hawk pro-Israeli think tank. She is also a senior adviser to the Chertoff Group, founded by Michael Chertoff, a secretary of internal security in the government of George W. Bush, and worked with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. One of her specialties is fighting extremists.
