BOLZANO – Pursuit of a dream and give up everything, driven by the enthusiasm to do something that is good for themselves. This is, in short, the story of Martina Bordignon, 29 years old, teacher e Andrea Minotti, 30 years old, tour operator, both from Bolzano with a diploma in his pocket and a permanent job, who decide to change life to manage a refuge at 1800 meters above sea level with breathtaking views of the Dolomites and the Dolomites Adige valley. The idea started with Martina who, passionate about the mountains, made several trips, going from resort to resort. «I was not particularly happy with my work. At school I looked out the window and thought how good life could be there instead of in the classroom. Then I met Andrea who was passionate about the project, so much so that he resigned and decided to follow me, "says Martina." Of course it was not easy to find a refuge to manage. We started knocking on all doors, from the CAI, the province to all other associations (Avs and Sat). Then we realized that we had to gain experience and for two summer seasons we stopped working in shelters, "explains Martina.

Until Martina & # 39; s fear that we now "feel all responsibility for us", Andrea replies that "we must be lucky enough to transform our weaknesses, or inexperience and youth, into strengths, starting with new ideas and enthusiasm "And there is no lack of enthusiasm and passion in Martina who feels so driven by these emotions that she" feels the project in her veins ". The Oltradige al Roen retreat is located between the provinces of Bolzano and Trento, in the Val di Non, not far from the town of Amblar. The shelter was built in 1913 and belongs to the Cai of Bolzano. From the terrace you can admire the Latemar group, the Pale di San Martino and even the Marmolada. It can be reached from the Non Valley on foot in about 20 minutes or from the Mendola pass along an enchanting path that winds through spruce and larch trees with a journey time of around two hours. Weather permitting, the season opens from the end of May to the beginning of June and ends the end of October. Martina and Andrea will give their guests the opportunity, even those who want to try the easy via ferrata of Roen, to spend the night in the hideout and taste typical dishes.
